'Santorini stole the show' to Milan. Thira Municipality participated in the International Fair of Milan (Witt 2010), with the central pillars of tourism promotion, continuity and efficiency, and returned with measurable, positive results.

In the most important market abroad for Santorini - according to recent surveys, and statistical evidence of the gateways to the island - Municipality of Thira was the only Municipality in Greece that participated with its own stand and with specific public relations, launching at the same time, the new tourism advertising campaign with the slogan SANTORINI five senses gallery.

Among the material distributed at the stand, the leader was the new brochure of the Municipality which reflected the same reasoning, which was distributed with the prospectus relating to the services provided accommodation and tour the island and multimedia.

Apart from the appearance of participation of the Municipality of Thera in the report, particular attention was paid to the central target of the presence of Santorini to Milan, that is to create a solid base of communication with the public in Italy. Thira Municipality extended the period of presence in Italy in response to the report, through parallel actions, before, after and during the exhibition, the press office function, a call to journalists to carry out competition on the basis of the concept and parallel organization mechanism of the details of visitors to qualified local staff the stand.

Counting of the outcome of the Municipality of Thira in BIT 2010, it is worth noting that at least 30 journalists have the eminent Italian Travel Press, visited the booth and expressed interest and immediately after exposure, while Italian company Public Relations is still in contact with them with the best service for the challenge of advertising. The disclosure was reinforced by interviews of the Mayor on the 2nd channel of the Italian Television (RAI 2).
